Carmo is one of my favorite places in New Orleans because they have such an eclectic menu. They are also a great spot if you have a friend who has dietary restrictions if they're vegetarian or vegan! I always have a hard time describing their food, but it is generally reflective of various tropical regions worldwide which explains the varied menu options. The food is always on point and they are generous portions to share. The interior of the restaurant is a minimalist, tropical setting with stand alone tables as well as some bench style tables meant for sharing. The staff are wonderful and very inviting which always makes your meal better.

We came in for lunch and were surprised that it was empty. The interior is massive and is made up of different dining areas service was good, food was exceptional. Pan con chicharon was our favorite. Sadly ceviche was good, not great.

Excellent customer service. Vegan options...make this an amazing option! Had the Peruano with vegan sausage, Trifongo, rum walnut cake and Graviola...everything but the Trifongo was exceptional and the Trifongo was decent, I just have never had it fully impress me except when it's made by someone's Puerto Rican abuela. All my selections were plant based and the walnut cake was even GF. The ambience was festive and inviting, part romantic date energy, part company dinners with colleagues from work. This is a great food experience, especially if you want to expand beyond the standard Naw'lins fare. Solid 4 out of 5.

Ambiance was nice as evidenced by the photo. They allowed us to bring our dog inside given the thunderstorms outside. Overall food was great. The fish in the day was a snapper and it was absolutely delicious. Had a mayo and a soy sauce type accompaniment. The tiradito was with King salmon and had this amazing ponzu sauce that made it salty with umami. We ordered the Pisco sour and Carmo Old Fashion. Pisco sour was concocted nicely. It was strong and probably one of the best my wife has had. The Old Fashion was supposed to have banana liquer with notes of chocolate but it just tasted like a normal Old Fashion to me. Service was ok. We waited for about 10 min after we sat down before someone took our orders which is why I gave this a 4/5.
